It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for the longest time – get rid of old books in our library. Today, I went through two
bookshelves and got rid of a ton of books. I looked through every book and asked myself, “Will I ever really need this in the future?” Books on corporate finance, strategic planning, portfolio management, wireless communications, smart cards, C++ programming, accounting, marketing - all the stuff from previous careers over the last 25 years. I got rid of 95% of them. I realized that I would probably not go back to my old careers ever again, and most of the information can be found on the Internet anyway
Guess what I kept? Books on food, wine, travel, massage, aromatherapy and other non-business stuff. I’ve got a lot more space in my bookshelves now. I wonder what kinds of books will be on my bookshelves in another 25 years?

We are also trying to sort out our book shelves. It can get overwhelming.
