I first heard about this somewhat bizzare culinary concoction about a year ago, but I have never had the chance to have it. The Scots apparently popularized it so I was not particularly keen on having it; after all, these are the same folks that gave us haggis. Oh I will definitely try haggis one of these days, preferably in Scotland and I have a feeling I might actually like it.
What on earth gave these people the idea of deep frying a chocolate bar, one made of not so fine chocolate to boot? Curiosity got the better part of me and so I did get to try deep fried Snickers bar at Epcot in Orlando. Jay found them in an Irish joint that sold fish and chips and shepherd’s pie and the like. It looked like a corn dog actually. The taste? Well, it tasted like hot, melted snickers with funnel cake. Will I try it again? No.
